Nashville is a city full of many amazing qualities: great people, food, music. But it's also full of awesome photo opportunities! Ever since I moved back to the area last summer, I've done my share of scoping out the best photo locations & I'm STILL not done finding them all! I've researched a ton on the best locations for photos in Nashville, but it seems like everyone posts about the same few spots. So, I decided to compile every location I've been to so far into six different categories (listed below), that way you can see the #BASIC ones, but you can also see some others that you may not have heard of or seen before. As I find more locations, I will try my best to update this list so it's accurate! I'm also going to try my best to put the location of these murals or photo locations with the pictures because sometimes they can be a little difficult to find! I hope this helps & if you have any more photo suggestions, let me know!

The first category is what I like to call the #BASIC photo locations. I decided to only put three in here, but that's because the other ones also fit into other categories "better" & because these are, in my opinion, the top 3 most popular places to take photos (as of recently) in Nashville. It also just so happens that all or a version of these can be found in the 12 South neighborhood!

I BELIEVE IN NASHVILLE MURAL This mural by DCXV Industries is pretty much THE mural in Nashville. Everyone takes photos here & they're really cute! Just be prepared to wait in line to get your photo taken here! (That means there's almost always going to be someone around take your group photo though, so that's a plus!)

(NOTE: Both photos shown here were taken at the 12 South location)

12 South- 2702 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Marathon Music Works- 1402 Clinton St, Nashville, TN 37203

The Basement East- 917 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

Located on the side of Reese Witherspoon's adorable store, these blue & white stripes are perfect for photos! I use these for pops of colors in photos. I've also seen friends or couples take pictures here & everyone stands in their own "stripe" for the photo (those turn out really cute!)

2608 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

These are a newer addition to Nashville & have been serving as promotion for the Rolling Stones's current exhibit at the Musicians Hall of Fame downtown. Since these have been placed around town, however, I have seen TONS of photos taken at them! I've never taken a picture WITH any of them, but I did get a quick shot of one of them when I was out last week. The cool thing about these? Each one has a different design, so you could take photos with every one of them & have completely different photos!

12 South- 2608 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Ascend Amphitheater- 310 1st Ave S, Nashville, TN 37201

Downtown- 121 4th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203

Bridgestone Arena (Predators Themed)- 501 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

(NOTE: The downtown location is directly across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame, on the sidewalk facing Bridgestone Arena by the Walk of Fame park)

The AT&T building (or "Batman building" as the locals like to call it) can be seen way aways from downtown in our skyline & it's honestly one of the coolest buildings in my opinion. This is also a super common picture for people to take when they're downtown! There's tons of places to take pics of the Batman building, but if you're wanting a pretty good close up without zooming in much on your phone, I suggest going to the top of Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row! That's where I took this one & I think it turned out pretty decent!

Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row- 400 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203

AT&T Building- 333 Commerce St, Nashville, TN 37201

Much like the #BASIC category, these locations are popular in Nashville. However, these are ones that you may not see on Instagram QUITE as much as the ones in the first category. Some of these even have to do with some local Nashville businesses!

Amelia's is a flower truck local to Nashville & if we're being honest, it's one of my favorite things in this city! You get to pick your own bouquet & it also makes for adorable photos!

Locations vary due to this being a mobile flower truck! Check their Instagram page (@ameliasflowertruck) for the truck locations of the day!

CORNER MUSIC RAINBOW WALL This wall is located on the side of Corner Music on 12 South & is great for a bright splash of color for your photos! The cool thing about this wall is that the mural will change from time to time! Since I've lived here, there's been 2 different designs on it. So that means you may get different photos than me depending on when you go!

(NOTE: The current mural is the one with the peace sign. The other one is what it looked like last summer!)

2705 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

JOHN SEIGENTHALER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE Moving downtown now, the Pedestrian Bridge is one of the prettiest views of Music City! This is a great photo location for your pictures of the Nashville skyline, group photos, or even proposals (which is what my high school choir director did)! This also is a great little way to get some extra cardio in since you'll have to walk just a little bit to get there!

FGL House (the walkway up to the bridge is located right next to this!)- 120 3rd Ave S, Nashville, TN 37201

Going back to 12 South now (as you can tell, 12 South is full of cute stuff!), the Welcome to Predsville USA mural is perfect for any Predators fan! Just be prepared to jump up a little bit or bring something to stand on because this one is a little bit higher than most!

2403 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

Besides the flower truck that frequents this neighborhood, Five Daughters is my favorite thing about 12 South. The first time I ate a donut from there, I almost cried tears of joy (no lie). But they don't just have yummy donuts- they also have adorable fences you can take photos with! These are located in the play area near the outside picnic tables & there's multiple options, so you can take pictures with one or all of them!

1110 Caruthers Ave, Nashville, TN 37204

(on a side street of 12 South)

Since Nashville is known as "Music City," naturally there is promotion for new albums or upcoming/ "new & current" events. Across the street from Five Points Pizza in East Nashville, there's a little building that always has promotions painted on it for new albums or events! When I went, I got super lucky because the Country Music Hall of Fame had a painting up to promote their current "American Currents: The Music of 2017" exhibit (running now- February 8, 2019. Visit for more information). The coolest part about it was that it featured Jason Isbell, one of my favorite artists, on it! Around the corner of the building was another promotion for Bonaroo. This painting changes more frequently (I've seen it painted to promote albums like Old Dominion's & Kacey Musgraves's in the past!), so if something you like is painted there that you know of, I'd go as soon as you get a chance in case it gets painted over!

107 N 11th St, Nashville, TN 37206

(this is right by the Marathon gas station!)

These are photos that are still super cute locations, but you can use them & people may not know that they were taken in Nashville! These can also be used for bloggers who want a cute background for showing off their outfits or products!

I stumbled across this wall last summer when Blake & I were going to Taco Mamacita & it is SO CUTE! Along with it, there’s an entire back walkway behind Taco Mamacita that’s really cute! The greenery wall is just my personal favorite spot because it's simple, but there's also cute tables outside an Italian restaurant & a little alcove with stringed lights everywhere!

behind 1200 Villa Pl, Nashville, TN 37212

Okay, so first off, if you've never been to McKay's, then you're missing out on a whole lot of magic. This store is full of used books, movies, CDs & my favorite, records. I bought 30 records here for $70 a few months ago & all of them were great finds! My favorite part of the record section to look in is the scratched section because the records there are really cheap but, most of the time, are still very usable. The wall with these records also looks really cute in photos!

636 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37209

This wall is on the side of a small business across the street from the Basement East & takes great photos, especially if you want a pop of color in your profile picture!

914A Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

(NOTE: If you can't find this, plug in the Basement East's address!)

I found this wall back in March & it's one of my favorites because you can be playful with it (see pictures below for evidence)! I had to park about a minute's walk away from it (for free parking. There's $5 parking behind it as well), but it's super cute! It's also on the side of a restaurant that serves pizza, so what more could you ask for?!

1012 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

If you didn't know this about me, I love to bake! So when I finally found this mural that I'd been seeing on Instagram, I had to pull over & take a picture with it! Warning: It's a little easy to pass, so be on the look out for it!

1512 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203

This is technically on the inside of an entrance to a business, but my friend & I found it before dinner one night & decided to try pictures here because 1. the business was closed & 2. it was a solid color background- perfect for profile photos! The pictures ended up turning out cute, so that's a plus!

(NOTE: This wall has the sun facing only part of it since the other side of the wall is the business, so keep that in mind for lighting!)

1011 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

Both of these locations are cute photo locations, but some complications came along with it...

This wall is very cute! Its located on the back end of Draper James (where the parking lot is) & takes clean looking photos! The problem? Apparently I was tired of taking pictures because this was the best one out of all of them that we took.

2608 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

This mural is one of the more "popular" ones in my opinion. In the photos that I've seen online, the mural looks like it's by an empty parking lot. The first time I saw this mural, that was true. What I didn't realize, however, was that during the week, that parking lot is PACKED & everyone decides to park right along the wall where the mural is (it's a tiny parking lot, but still). If you can catch this on the weekend when the parking lot is empty, your photos will probably turn out super cute, but if you catch it on a weekday like I did, just be prepared for something like this (see below)...

625 Main St Nashville, TN 37206

I've seen these bears in SO many people's Instagrams over the years. The mural in the background of the pictures looks so hipster & cool. Unfortunately, this mural is right smack behind an entire row of parking spots. So unless you're lucky (unlike me), you'll more than likely have cars in the background of your photos along with the bears.

(NOTE: I cropped the vehicles out of my photo so it was easier to see what it should look like if the parking lot was empty!)

103 S 11th St, Nashville, TN 37206

All of these locations mentioned in this category are great in their own way, but they just didn't fit in a specific category in my opinion. All of these are still great locations though & make for awesome photos!

This one is quite possibly one of my "oldest tricks" for walls I've been using in Nashville. I discovered this wall around two years ago on a choir competition trip. My friends & I were taking photos downtown & found a blank white wall (with SHADE so we weren't squinting in the photos!) on the side of ACME Feed & Seed on Broadway. The photos turned out really cute!

(NOTE: Because of the shade, the white wall will sometimes have a teeny bit of a blue tint to it)

101 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201

If you know anything about Nashville, you know that the Ryman Auditorium (aka the Mother Church) is pretty much royalty when it comes to buildings in Nashville. While yes, this is a tourist spot, the outside of the building also has lots of places to take pretty + cute pictures!

116 5th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219

This mural is a little ways away from downtown, but if you love avocados as much as my best friend does, then it's definitely worth the 10 minute drive! This mural is on the back of a restaurant & is perfect for a picture of you + your fave food!

3 City Ave #200, Nashville, TN 37209

The Basement East is a music venue in East Nashville. The thing that I find the coolest about this venue, however, is that they promote new albums on the side of their building near the load-in area! Blake & I love Paramore & they were promoting their most recent album there, so we went to take some pictures there! The bands + albums are also always changing, so be sure to keep checking back for your favorite artists!

917 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

I call this Bob's cheetah mural because this is located on the back of an auto shop that a sweet guy named Bob owns. I stumbled upon this mural after taking pictures at the Basement East one day a few months back & Bob came out while I was taking photos & talked to me for half an hour. He was so nice! There are also some paintings on the side of the building. These cheetahs are super colorful + edgy, so definitely check them out! (And also talk to Bob if he's there!)

Right behind 917 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206

These four locations are honestly some of my most favorite places to take pictures, no matter what. All of these locations take gorgeous pictures & they will also look great for whatever you're using these photos for!

I saw this wall on Instagram YEARS ago when I was casually scrolling through my feed. I went here last summer to take some photos & it's even cuter in person! It's perfect for anyone who loves pink!

714 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206

Centennial Park is about 10 minutes away from downtown & is basically a hub for both tourists & locals. The main feature of this park is the Parthenon, which features a golden Athena statue inside, but I'm focusing more on the park itself because it's gorgeous! These are just a few examples of photos you could take here, but have fun exploring the entire park for your own spots!

2500 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203

2nd Avenue's great because unlike Broadway, 2nd Avenue isn't as crazy crowded. It also isn't filled with JUST bars + boot stores. BUT you still feel like you're in downtown Nashville & it still looks like it too! There just aren't as many extra tourists in the backgrounds of your photos:)

2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN (if you’re coming from Broadway, then it’s right by the Hard Rock Cafe!)

The final photo location mentioned in this post is going to be my newest discovery, which is the "Nashville looks good on you" mural. This black & white mural created by on Instagram is a perfect way to capsulize your trip in a photo because no matter where you're from, Nashville DOES look good on you!

Behind Frothy Monkey- 2509 12th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37204

I hope this helps you some in your future Nashville photo location hunting, whether you're a 615 Native or a visitor! Either way, I know the photos will turn out great & you're going to have a ton of fun taking them, just like I did! If you go to any of these locations, make sure to tag me (@graceccathey3) in your photos so I can see them! Thanks for reading! You rock. -GC
